To provide a unique, practical learning experience for university students that primarily develops the skills of entrepreneurship and innovation, whilst connecting participants with industry professionals for the betterment of their ideas and future careers.
This Program helps set students aside from their peers.
On My Feet Ltd established the Social Enterprise Program to develop the skills of entrepreneurship and innovation among university students, whilst raising funds to assist homeless people internationally.
On My Feet Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation that assists homeless people in Australia and South Africa through running communities and by providing pathways to education and employment. We help homeless become self-sustainable, and so, the Social Enterprise Program is one way that we, as an organisation, can exemplify what it means to be self-sufficient whilst still helping other people.
We believe the leaders of tomorrow, university students, are worth investing in. That’s why we provide tertiary students with the opportunity to run their own micro-business for 12 weeks with the support of industry professionals from banking, accounting, economics, legal, marketing, management and other disciplines.
The Social Enterprise Program requires students to work in assigned teams of two (2) or three (3), with the support of industry professionals, to develop and execute a business plan for selling On My Feet branded running socks.
Student teams spend the first three (3) to four weeks (4) of the Program planning their strategies before executing, with the aim to sell as many socks as possible. Teams that perform exceptionally well during the Program are presented awards at the conclusion of the Program.
The Program is currently offered to university students in Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Each semester the top 10-15 candidates in each state compete in the Program.
